Gloria
Olson Peterson, 82, left her earthly home Thursday evening, December 18 at 5:12 p.m. at the home of her son Gary, in West
Jordan, UT.
Born April 25, 1926, in Cedar City, Utah, daughter of Alfred and Della Olson. Married Emery LeVee
Peterson (Pete) Feb. 3, 1946, at the home of her parents. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple, September
12, 1950.
Gloria grew up in Cedar City, Utah. She attended schools there and had a semester at the Branch Agriculture College.
She joined the war effort in the Ogden, Utah, area but due to health issues returned to Cedar City and worked as an operator
at the Mountain Bell Telephone Company during the early years of World War II. She also worked in retail stores.
Gloria was an accomplish seamstress and did much of that work at home while raising her family. She was loved by her
family and was an accomplished homemaker. She spent much of her adult life
exercising and trying to follow the regimens of the Jane Fonda types. Walking was her passion. She would walk 4 or 5 miles
in mornings and delivered the Riverton Ranger newspaper on foot for a number of years.
Survived by Husband Emery L. Peterson; children: Gary D. Peterson (Shirleen), Penny Coombs, Robert L. Peterson, Michael
E. Peterson, eight grandchildren, 17 great grand children, sister Afton Teague.
Predeceased by her father, Alfred
Olson, mother, Della Corry Olson, and brother Corry Olson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2008,
at the West Jordan Stake Center, 8121 Leslie Drive (8121 S 3905 West), West Jordan, Utah. Friends may call
at 10 am, prior to the funeral at 11 am. Interment Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
