Christopher Hilton Honyaoma
1974-2010
“Chris”
Christopher Hilton Honyaoma, beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson and cousin, passed on to the spirit world on August 17, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Christopher was born on March 20, 1974 in Provo, Utah to Hilton Honyaoma & Barbara A. Kelly.
Christopher will be forever remembered as a passionate, creative and caring person. He loved the outdoors, animals, and art, as well as skateboarding and music, two lifelong passions that defined a great portion of his personality and life. Always able to provide an alternative point of view on life, Chris was infallible in his ability to find a unique way to express the truth, whether it was good or bad. He was most at peace when enjoying nature or spending time with animals. One of his favorite activities in recent years was riding bicycles with his mother along the Jordan River Trail. Christopher was a gentle and compassionate soul, always the first to stand up for and defend those weaker or less fortunate than himself. Whether it was through his art, his words or his actions, Chris never ceased to provide a refreshing perspective on the world, blessing all that crossed his path with his own brand of happiness.
Christopher is survived by his grieving parents Hilton Honyaoma of Phoenix, AZ & Barbara A. Kelly of Salt Lake City, UT. His sisters Sonia (Joshua) Stern of Salt Lake City, UT & Kari A. Honyaoma of Beaverton, OR, will miss their middle brother’s goofy laugh. Nephews Colby P. Dimick (Fozzy to Chris) of Salt Lake City, UT & Derek E. Honyaoma of Beaverton, OR will miss his teasing ways. His niece Sienna A. Stern of Salt Lake City, UT, will miss having her buttons pushed. Also surviving is one shimasani (grandmother), Lorena A. Kelly of Tuba City, AZ along with several other aunts, uncles & cousins.
Our precious Christopher will be buried next to his maternal grandchei (grandfather), Andrew W. Kelly, at the family burial site in Sanders, AZ on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11 a.m.
Chris, we are comforted by the fact that your grandchei, Nathan, Mikey, Roman and Maxim were there to greet you. Walk in beauty Chris, we will never forget the happiness you brought to us and this world.
We love you.

Dear Barbara,
We just talked to Jen who told us of your sudden and tragic loss. We can't find the words to express our sorrow. But, know this, our hearts are with you. Perhaps the words of Chief Dan George best express our thoughts: "May the stars carry your sadness away, may the flowers fill your heart with beauty, may hope forever wipe away your tears. And, above all, may silence make you strong."
God Bless - Doug & Maggie Steele |

Barbara, Sonia, and Kari,
Nathan and I were both very sorry to hear about the loss of Chris. We talked about how he always had a way of making us laugh. Chris was original and didn't follow the crowd. We didn't see him often, but we enjoyed the time that we spent with him at pow-wows and family gatherings. I can't imagine how hard it is for all of you. Have a safe trip to/from Arizona. Our thoughts and love are with you at this time. - Jen S. and Nathan J. |
